- How long have you been on DeviantArt?
According to the counter, I have been on dA for 8 years. That was 2007, and I was 10 years old. I must admit, I was only active for maybe a year or so. I'm trying to get back into the rigor of things, though.
- What does your username mean?
It's... pretty dumb, haha. I was very into petsites at that age, and one of the websites I used to frequent, suta-raito, lead me to a few petsites that I used to go to a lot before they were taken down. Hence, suta + pets.
- Describe yourself in three words.
Sleepy, inspired, impatient.
- Are you left or right handed?
I'm ambidextrous, in a way. My main hand is the right, but I can eat (using chopsticks, spoon and fork, or bare hands) using either. I also sometimes use my left hand for shading.
- What was your first deviation?
O_O I'm pretty sure I've deleted that already...
- What is your favourite type of art to create?
Gosh. I don't know? It depends on my mood, mostly. But if I had to whittle it down to a top three, it would be watercolour paintings, prose, and pixel art.
- If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
Not really master as much as to really "get", but the art style for the video game series Deponia. I've always been a fan of blocky type shapes and detail, and that's one of the media that really displays a style that I like.
- What was your first favourite?
[hides myriad of Jonas Brothers and David Archuleta fandom favourites] Nothing! Nothing at all.
- What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
Honestly? It depends. I'm an all-arounder when it comes to art, especially since I started my major under Information Design (despite the name, it also requires a fair amount of art history and critique classes, for obvious reasons). I've learned to appreciate all kinds of art, so it's hard to find one that I favour the most.
- Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
Oh my gosh, it's either kurisquare or cartoongirl7. Their art is the bomb's diggity.
- If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
No one, really. I have terrible social anxiety that already hinders me to meeting people I already know. I'm totally okay with online correspondence because of it!
- How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
Well, as someone who used to be a frequenter of the emoticon-making community, the many artists who are known there (Synfull, CookieMagiK, Mintyy, S-Starfeesh, to name a few) that have inspired me to strive better with being succinct. Emoticon making is extremely difficult when you want to do so much but your canvas is little more than a 20x20 square, and I'm honestly so much better ever since I started striving for it, based on their works.
- What are your preferred tools to create art?
Um.. for traditional art: Staedler (Pencils), Sakura (Pens), Prang (Watercolour), Reeves (Acrylic), Canson (Paper). I'm also a fan of Grumbacher for Acrylic, but it's a tad more expensive than Reeves. I don't really have much of a feel of oil as much, as I'm not really a big user of oil paint.
Then for digital: the entire Adobe Creative Suite lmao. I think the only ones I don't use are Lightroom and Premiere. I'm more used to Photoshop and After Effects, respectively.
- What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
Honestly? Everywhere. As long as I'm in the mindset of creating art, I can start projects as long as I have somewhere to write them down.
- What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
Hmm, most probably just hanging out at the dA chat. It was so much fun and I made a fair amount of friends.
